About

My name is David McQueen a speaker and trainer, and one passionate about the positive sides of the black experience. I write on a number of issues including my life, my faith, my love of the African diaspora and here about empowering black youth.

Walk Like a Champion is a blog dedicated to empowering Afro Caribbean students in the UK with stories of sucess in education, politics, business and community. Featuring profiles, interviews, podcasts and articles on the many positive aspects of the black experience in the UK this serves as an antidote to the persistent negativity being fed to Afro Caribbean youth in the UK.

Historically many youth could only look to entertainment and sport as a means of achieving. This blog readdresses that balance by providing a constant source of information for students to be empowered by those who have bucked the trend to be succesful regardless or in spite of their colour.

It is my dream that this project can be developed into a book and maybe even short films in the not to distant future, to get a generation to realise where they have come from and that they should Walk Like the Champions they are.
